WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A LOS ANGELES WEDDING DJS PRICE?

There is a lot more to a professional DJ’s role in your wedding day than simply showing up and playing music. Here’s a list of what a Los Angeles wedding DJ costs may include:

  • TIME – Not only does the cost of a Los Angeles wedding DJ include the hours they are willing to perform at your wedding, it also includes the time it takes for your music pro to prepare for your big day. Before your wedding, your Los Angeles DJ will spend time creating your playlists and reviewing the timeline for your big day. And on your actual wedding day, your Los Angeles DJ will have to travel, set up, perform, and break everything down.
  • EQUIPMENT – The last thing you want on your wedding day is for your Los Angeles DJ’s equipment to sound bad or even worse, break in the middle of the party leaving you with no option but to go home early, so part of a Los Angeles DJ’s fee goes to purchasing and maintaining the most up-to-date, high quality equipment available.
  • MUSIC – Contrary to popular belief, your wedding DJ actually has to buy their own music! There is no magical unlimited pool of music for a Los Angeles wedding DJ to pull from. Every song they play has to be legally purchased at anywhere from .69 – $1.29.
  • OPERATIONAL COSTS AND INSURANCE – These include things like paying rent, business licenses, and marketing costs. You’ll also want to make sure that your Los Angeles wedding DJ is insured. This protects you, your Los Angeles wedding DJ, and your venue in the unlikely event that equipment is damaged or someone is injured due to your Los Angeles wedding DJ’s equipment.

ARE THE MORE EXPENSIVE LOS ANGELES DJS WORTH THE EXTRA COST?

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Think of shopping around for a Los Angeles wedding DJ as something similar to shopping for a new car. There are several different options. You can buy a brand new Ford Prius for $24,525 or a McLaren Speedtail for $2,250,000 (and everything in between). Any car you purchase will serve as a mode of transportation. The experience, however, is going to be very different depending on your decision. The same goes for hiring a Los Angeles wedding DJ.

If you have ever attended a high-end wedding, the experience is very different from a simple wedding done in a backyard. At a higher end wedding, the venue usually has stunning architecture and beautiful lighting that brings the space to life. They also provide top notch service that leaves your guests impressed. All of this increases the chances of the outcome you desire on your big day. Can you have a fun wedding in a backyard with an inexperienced DJ that isn’t comfortable on the mic, and only provides tacky/cheap lighting? Absolutely! Is it also possible for an inexperienced surgeon to “successfully” perform surgery in a basement without advanced tools, the latest devices, assistance, and technology. The experience and the extras make the outcome you want much more likely. Why not have an experience that is better in just about every way? It all depends on what you want, what you can afford, and how important it is to get the results you desire on your wedding day.

Remember, you will usually get what you pay for, so it is important to manage expectations. It is extremely unrealistic to expect a Los Angeles DJ that is charging $750 to have 10+ years of experience, MC abilities, premium sound, dance floor lighting, uplighting, back-up equipment, insurance, and/or any other extras. You may get lucky and find somebody who is new in the business and willing to do the event for cheaper, but this usually comes with some kind of compromise. They won’t have very much experience, and it will most definitely show. They usually won’t have any insurance or backup equipment and their mixing skills will probably leave something to be desired. If your guests notice and start to complain or something goes wrong with the DJ’s equipment and they don’t have a plan B, this will cause you added stress on an already stressful day and nobody wants that! Your wedding day is supposed to be the best day of your life. Saving a few bucks now may cost you a lifetime of regret so make sure you make the right choice when selecting your Los Angeles wedding DJ!
